PRAGUE: Digital Video-On-Demand (VOD) revenues are expected to keep increasing in the Czech Republic, according to some film distributors in the country, even as the COVID-19 pandemic wanes across Europe and the continent continues to recover from the coronavirus crisis

VALLETTA: The Government of Malta has recently upgraded the cash rebates for filmmakers, making the financial guidelines more attractive to the film industry. Productions which satisfy the cultural test can benefit from a rebate of up to 40% of eligible expenditure.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Transilvania Pitch Stop, the coproduction platform of the Transilvania IFF (TIFF), has opened the call for applications for its 2022 edition announced for 23-25 June. The deadline is 10 April 2022.

WARSAW: Aleksandra Terpińska’s debut feature Other People has been sold by Polish New Europe Film Sales to British Magnetes Pictures, which will release it not only in the UK and Ireland, but also in Germany, Austria, Benelux, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Iceland.

CANNES: New projects by Georgian Levan Koguashvili (Guria), Bulgarian Stephan Komandarev (Made in EU) and Czech Tomas Weinreb & Petr Kazda (The Forest) are among the 15 projects selected for the 18th edition of Cannes’ L’Atelier (22-27 May 2022).
