Brussels: 28 February 2022 - The International Union of Cinemas (UNIC), the European cinema trade grouping, has today announced that IMAX Corporation and Vista Group take on the role of principal sponsors of its flagship Women’s Cinema Leadership Programme, already in its fifth year. At the same time UNIC launched a call for mentors and mentees to take part in the next 2022-23 edition.

Who will get the most Czech Lion statuettes? We will find out on Saturday 5th March. The tragicomic drama Occupation by Michal Nohejl and the biographic drama Zátopek directed, produced and co-written by David Ondříček can both boast of 13 nominations for the Czech Lion awards and thus stand the biggest chances in the 29th year. 11 nominations were given to the fantastic comedy by Martin Šulík The Man with Hare Ears, a film about a man who suddenly obtained some superpowers and those turned his life upside down from day to day.

ZAGREB: The 18th edition of the International Documentary Film Festival ZagrebDox is set to take place 3-10 April 2022 with around thirty films vying in the international and regional competition programmes. The Festival will also include the ZagrebDox PRO educational platform for film professionals, special screenings, discussions and presentations.

LIMASSOL: The call for projects for the coproduction, training and networking platform for film professionals Dot.on.the.map Industry Days, that will take place on 14 - 16 April 2022 in the frames of the 20th Cyprus Film Days International Festival 2022 and in partnership with the Thessaloniki International Film Festival Agora. The deadline for submissions is Friday, 25 February.

Film O’Clock International Festival honors the international cinematographic heritage, through a dedicated industry event and through the 6 productions selected in the classic films section. The great Greek director Pantelis Voulgaris is a special guest of the second edition of Film O’Clock. Festival tickets and passes are now up for sale.

The Estonian Film Institute (EFI) distributed over 1.5 million euro to the following projects in the first financing rounds of 2022.

BUDAPEST: The 19th edition of the Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival calls for documentary films addressing human rights and social issues. The festival will take place in person in Budapest and many other Hungarian cities from 8 to 16 November 2022, as well as online.
