ZAGREB:  Extracurricular directed by Ivan-Goran Vitez is Croatia's candidate for the 93rd Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the best international feature film category. The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on 25 April 2021.

TALLINN: The main competition of the 24th edition of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival will screen 25 films. The festival runs 13 – 29 November 2020.

JIHLAVA: Jani Sever's Antigone – How Dare We! / Antigona – Kako si upamo! will be screened in the Between the Seas competition of the online edition of the 24th Ji.hlava IDFF, which runs 27 October – 8 November 2020. This political docudrama is based on the play The Three Lives of Antigone, written by a well-known and controversial Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek.

JIHLAVA: The acclaimed and prolific Latvian documentary filmmaker Ivars Zviedris will screen his film Latvian Coyote (previously titled The Smuggler) in the Between the Seas competition of the online edition of the 24th Ji.hlava IDFF, which runs 27 October – 8 November 2020.

JIHLAVA: The 24th Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival, which will take place in an expanded online form on 27 October – 8 November 2020, will look at Polish experimental and underground documentary production, which originated at the Łódź  Film School.

TALLINN: Polish actor Antoni Salaj, Estonian actress Henessi Schmidt, Estonian actor Reimo Sagor, and Lithuanian actor Simonas Mozura have been selected to participate in the Black Nights Stars programme at the Black Nights Film Festival's industry section, running 23 -27 November 2020.

BUCHAREST: The Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest Film Festival has chosen a hybrid 11th edition (23 October - 1 November 2020) mixing outdoor, drive-in and online screenings, as indoor cinemas in Bucharest have closed, re-opened and closed again in the last two weeks.
