BRATISLAVA: The Red Captain, a Slovak/Czech/Polish coproduction directed by Slovak producer/director Michal Kollár, stayed in the Slovak top 20 for its tenth week in distribution. The film has a cumulative box office of 452,000 EUR and 84,000 admissions.

WROCLAW: Shooting on the Polish/US fantasy film Valley of the Gods starring John Malkovich and directed by Lech Majewski begins on 18 May 2016 in Wroclaw.

PRAGUE: Six Czech films are holding on to their spots in the top 20 at the local box office, with several in their sixth and seventh weeks in distribution. They are comprised of a diverse mix of genres, including fairy tale, drama, romantic comedy and animation.

The B'EST EAVE 2015 Producers Workshop ends today with the best project award announced at the Baltic Event reception in Cannes. The 12 000 Euros of development support is granted by the P.O.V. Film Development Fund. The award goes to producer Maxim Dashkin's (Russia) project The Longest Birthday.

BUCHAREST: Romania has announced that it will offer tax incentives for films by the end of 2016. The system is being worked out by the Romanian Ministry of Culture and the Romanian National Film Centre.

TRIESTE: The coproduction forum When East Meets West (WEMW), taking place 22-24 January 2017, has announced its country focus, with Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania representing the East and France representing the West.
