We open the Film Spring Open Workshop registration, which will take place in Krakow between 12-21.10.2021.

DUBROVNIK: German Beta Film has picked up international distribution rights to the crime series The Silence directed by Dalibor Matanic and produced by the Croatian company Drugi Plan. The series will have its world premiere at the NEM Dubrovnik, running 6-9 September 2021.

The 12th edition of New Horizons Studio+ took place from 12th till 15th August during the 21. New Horizons International Film Festival (12th - 22nd August 2021).

SARAJEVO: CineLink Drama, which is running 14-19 August 2021 under the umbrella of the Sarajevo Film Festival, brings two teams of newcomers into its selection. Mario Kozina and Maja Pek-Brünjes are the creative team behind the Croatian project Jinx, while the Bosnian and Herzegovinian writer/short film director Tina Šmalcelj is developing Treasure of Veleš, a series dedicated to young audiences.

VILNIUS: The Lithuanian/Czech coproduction Runner by Andrius Blaževičius has been acquired by the London-based sales agent Alief. The sophomore feature by Blaževičius is running in the East of the West Competition at the Karlovy Vary IFF (20-28 August 2021).

KARLOVY VARY: Eastern Promises, the industry section of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, has announced its winners. The 55th edition of the Karlovy Vary IFF will take place 20-28 August 2021.

‘Otar’s Death’, the feature debut by Georgian director loseb “Soso” Bliadze, will celebrate its world premiere on Saturday, August 21 in the East of the West Competition at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, running August 20 - 28.

Croatian titles and minority Croatian productions to screen in competition and non-competitive programmes, including some world premieres, at this year’s edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival, held 13th – 20th August. In addition, Croatian filmmakers will participate in different SFF industry sections.

A collaboration of the New Horizons IFF and the European Film Academy (EFA), the 10th Sunday in the Country will gather a dozen young film critics from Europe for a retreat/workshop. The participants meet for 3 days in a remote country house near Wrocław (Willa Słoneczna on Bystrzyckie Lake at Zagórze Śląskie) where they get to know each other, watch films and discuss them, meet filmmakers brought of the New Horizons and talk about their profession and challenges of the post-pandemic world. They exchange their professional experiences and build international relations.
