FESTIVALS: Herceg Novi – Montenegro Film Festival 2022 Puts Spotlight on Films from the Region
Montenegro 24-08-2022PODGORICA: The 35th edition of the Herceg Novi - Montenegro Film Festival, which started on 22 August 2022, focuses on films from the region. The festival organises competitions for feature, documentary and student films.
BUCHAREST: A total of 21 international short films and five Romanian short films have been selected for the two competitions of the 8th edition of the Bucharest International Dance Festival (8 – 11 September 2022).
BUCHAREST: Romanian director Adrian Voicu is currently in postproduction with his first feature film Capturing Sami / Captura, which is produced by Axel Film, the company behind Immaculate by Monica Stan and George Chiper-Lillemark, winner of the Best Debut Film Award in Venice 2021. The Bulgarian company Contrast Films is coproducing.
VALLETTA: Maltese miniseries The Home Straight directed by Keith Tedesco has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo in order to raise 40,000 EUR to secure locations, actors, crew and gear for the production.

FESTIVALS: Safe Place by Juraj Lerotić Wins 2022 Sarajevo Film Festival
Bosnia-Herzegovina 22-08-2022SARAJEVO: Safe Place / Sigurno mjesto by Juraj Lerotić, a Croatian coproduction produced in collaboration with Slovenia, received the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Feature Film at the 28th edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival (12-19 August 2022). Juraj Lerotić also received the award for best actor.
Films from FNE Partner Countries in European Film Awards 2022 - Feature Film Selection – Part 1
Region 22-08-2022BERLIN: Six films from FNE partner countries are among the ten titles of the European Film Awards 2022 Feature Film Selection – Part 1 announced by the European Film Academy. The European Film Awards gala 2022 will be held in Reykjavík, Iceland on 10 December.
PRAGUE: Czech Republic has approved a cap of 6 m EUR / 150 m CZK per project per year for the applications for film incentives. The decision was made as the demands of the producers are high.
WARSAW: Polish channel Polsat is in preparation with Sługa Narodu, a local remake after the Ukrainian series Servant of the People starring the Ukrainian then president to be, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The series is directed by Maciej Bieliński.
