The Riga International Film Festival is announcing sales of early bird tickets and introducing this year’s slogan – Owning the Unknown. The seventh RIGA IFF will take place this autumn from 15 to 25 October.

TETA has opened applications for the 6th edition of Pustnik Screenwriters Residency which has been scheduled for 7-15 September 2020. Pustnik is the only Romania-based residency for feature film development and is dedicated to young and emerging filmmakers from all over the world.

The Thessaloniki International Film Festival continues its online activities during the days of the quarantine. TIFF offers for free, through the streaming platform Festival Scope, digital screenings of Greek films from the program of the 60th TIFF.

EFP's networking programme PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE will take place as originally planned from 11 to 15 May, 2020, and independently of the Cannes Film Festival which has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. 20 selected up-and-coming European producers will meet online this year and present their projects in speed meetings and roundtable sessions. A case study as well as talks with experts will round out the digital programme running over five days.

WARSAW: The XIV Krzysztof Kieślowski ScripTeast Award for the Best Script from Eastern Europe went to the multiple-award-winning Polish screenwriter and director Maciej Sobieszczański and co-writer Grzegorz Puda for the script entitled Brother. The awards, usually a champagne gala affair held annually on the beach during Cannes Film Festival, took place for the first time online this year on 20 May 2020.

UNQUIET VOICES, the innovative participatory documentary directed by Ioana Mischie, written by Roxana Niță and Adina Stănescu and produced by Centrade Cheil and STUDIOSET is nominated for The 24th Webby Awards. The web-doc was previously awarded by highly prestigious international competitions such as Golden Drum (two bronze medals), Webstock (Best Video Use), and nominated at Cannes Lions in three categories. The project was launched in selected cinemas, schools and museums, reaching a multitude of trans-generational audiences.

Baltic Short Film Project Pitching Event „Baltic Pitching Forum” announces its new call for short film projects. This year a Guest Country of the Forum will be Poland. The event will invite twelve short film projects – three from each Baltic country of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and three from Poland — to come and pitch in front of a panel of invited experts. The eighth edition of the Baltic Pitching Forum will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania on 8th-10th October 2020. Application deadline – 2nd of August.
