VILNIUS: The Vilnius Film Fund, which was approved by the Vilnius City Council last week, will support filmmakers whose work increases the visibility of Lithuania’s capital city.

SARAJEVO: The documentary Blum: Masters of Their Own Destiny by the Academy Award- nominee Jasmila Žbanić has been chosen as Bosnia and Herzegovina’s candidate for the 98th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category.

BRATISLAVA: Madrid-based sales agent Onza Distribution has acquired the 8-episode procedural crime series Neuer from Slovak production company KFS Production.

ZAGREB: The acclaimed Croatian director Zvonimir Jurić is currently in postproduction with Small Things / Male stvari, a feature coproduction between Croatia, Slovenia, and Serbia. It’s one of the 27 projects selected from over 240 applications for the 8th European Work in Progress (EWIP), which is held for the first time in Hamburg 29 September - 1 October 2025.

PODGORICA: The Tower of Strength / Obraz by Nikola Vukcević has been chosen as Montenegro’s candidate for the 98th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category.

ZAGREB: Nine minority coproduction projects received support totalling 407,000 EUR from the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC). They include three feature films, one debut feature, one long documentary, two animated films, and two short fiction films.

LIMASSOL: Seventeen titles have been selected for the National Competition section of the 15th International Short Film Festival of Cyprus (ISFFC), which will be held 11 – 17 October 2025 at the Rialto Theatre, in Limassol.

RIGA: Twelve projects, including nine feature films and three series, in various stages, from the Baltics as well as Eastern and Central Europe have been selected for the 4th coproduction market of the Riga International Film Festival (RIGA IFF, 16 – 26 October 2025).
