BUCHAREST: Cristian Mungiu’s new feature film R.M.N., selected for Cannes’s Competition 2022, questions the profound motivations of human behaviour in the face of reality and how we relate to a disquieting future. The Dardenne brothers are among the coproducers.

BRATISLAVA: Slovak director Juraj Janiš has wrapped production on his short film Gritty Eyes, a coproduction between Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The film is backed by film funds from both countries.

WARSAW: The 6th edition of the international coproduction forum Kids Kino Industry, has launched its call for applications. The deadline is 31 May 2022.

BUCHAREST: Admissions to domestic films declined in Romania from 604,247 in 2020 to 236,291 in 2021, even though more new domestic films were released in 2021: 28, compared to 19 in 2020.

ZAGREB: Antoneta Alamat Kusijanović’s debut feature Murina will be released in France by KBMO on 20 April 2022. This coproduction between Croatia, USA, Brazil and Slovenia is currently in cinemas in the UK and Ireland, released by Modern Films on 8 April 2022.

PRAGUE: Long documentaries and docuseries in development or early production stage coming from Central and Eastern Europe or coproduced with the CEE countries can apply to Ex Oriente Film till 18 April 2022.
