BUCHAREST: Ramona Săseanu was approved as acting general manager of the Romanian public television (TVR) on 11 May 2021 as the Parliament rejected the activity reports of the former general manager Doina Gradea for 2017, 2018 and 2019.

STRASBOURG: The three films nominated for the 2021 LUX Audience Award – collective by Romanian director Alexander Nanau, Corpus Christi by Polish director Jan Komasa and Another Round by Thomas Vinterberg, are available online in the LUX Audience Week from 10 to 16 May 2021. Two out of the three titles are from FNE partner countries.
BUCHAREST: The 14th edition of One World Romania, which was due 21-30 May 2021, has been postponed to 11-20 June 2021 in a physical format and 21-27 June 2021 online.

Today marks the start of the 23rd edition of the One World International Human Rights Film Festival throughout the Czech Republic. This years slogan – “Connection Lost” – refers to one of the phrases most frequently encountered by people meeting with the use of the technological options offered by the internet. “It is a message informing us of a weak connection or other technical difficulties that negatively affect our technology-based communication. At the same time, these words perfectly describe the situation that many people have found themselves in during the pandemic,” explains Festival Director Ondřej Kamenický. One World will screen 101 documentaries from 50 countries, and viewers can look forward to more than 40 discussions within the One World Live programme.
