TALLINN: The 8th edition of the Baltic Film Days will take place simultaneously in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania from 29 to 31 August 2024, showcasing the best of the Baltic cinema. The programme includes free screening of feature films, short films and documentaries, as well as Q&A sessions.

TALLINN: The first edition of the Tallinn Industry Academy, introduced by Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event (ITBE, 14 – 22 November 2024) and Locarno Pro will take place during the industry platform of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (8 – 24 November 2024).

Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, the meeting place for professionals at the Black Nights Film Festival, have joined forces with Locarno Pro to introduce Tallinn Industry Academy. The programme is designed for emerging sales professionals, distributors, and programmers interested in improving the skills, expanding their network of contacts in the fields of sales, marketing, distribution, exhibition, as well as programming and curating.  

On 24 October, the main venue of the Riga International Film Festival (RIGA IFF, 17–27 October), cinema Splendid Palace, will host one of the most unique festival events – RIGA IFF Baltic Music Video Competition screening. 12 of the most striking past year’s Baltic music videos, embodying the wild spirit of the mix between image and music, will compete for the title of the winner and a cash prize of EUR 1,000.

The 28th edition of Baltic Sea Docs documentary pitching forum is set to take place in Riga, 1-8 September. This year, the forum will feature the presentation of 26 film projects, alongside screenings for local audiences in Riga and various regional towns across Latvia.

The feature film THE SEED OF THE SACRED FIG by Mohammad Rasoulof (Run Way Pictures) will represent Germany at the 97th Academy Awards® in the category for "Best International Feature Film". This decision was taken by an independent jury of experts appointed by German Films. A total of 13 films were submitted for consideration.

HERCEG NOVI: Twelve films, directed by Ivan Marinović, Sonja Prosenc, Emilija Gašić and Mladen Đorđević, among others, will compete in the Feature Film Competition of the 37th edition of the Herceg Novi Film Festival. The largest film festival in Montenegro and one of the most important in the region is held in Herceg Novi 23 – 29 August 2024.

HERCEG NOVI: An inaugural Montenegro Film Rendezvous will take place 24 – 27 August 2024 within the 37th Herceg Novi Film Festival, organised by the Film Centre of Montenegro. The event is designed to nurture a lasting bond between the Montenegrin, regional and European film industries.

VILNIUS: Lithuanian director Laurynas Bareisa’s sophomore feature Drowning Dry / Sesės has been selected as Lithuania’s candidate for the 97th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category.

The inaugural Montenegro Film Rendezvous is set to take place from August 24th to 27th in Herceg Novi, as part of the 37th Herceg Novi Film Festival, and is organised by the Film Centre of Montenegro.
