TBILISI: Film director, screenwriter, journalist and actress Nino Kirtadze, the new representative of Georgia in Eurimages, spoke with Film New Europe about the importance of Eurimages support for Georgian coproductions and about her own projects.

For the fourth year of their successful collaboration in the series of talks around the them of « The circulation and promotion of Scandinavian films », Europa Distribution and New Nordic Films will this year take a closer look at the film value chain, and more specifically at how essential each link is for the success of the film, and at how the different parts of the chain can work best together.

We will follow the wonderful voyage of Danish hit Queen of Hearts:  How was she born?  How was she raised?  And how is she finally touching the hearts of so many people around the globe? 

These are some of the questions that will be explored in Haugesund on Wednesday August 21st , (10.15-11.45am), with the help of the following experts:

Emerging Producers 2019 were announced, with Taiwan as guest country

SARAJEVO: The projects Kix by Bálint Révész and Dávid Mikulán (Hungarian/German/Croatian coproduction) and Frem by Viera Čákányová (Czech Republic) are both winners of Docu Talent Awards 2019. The awards were announced during the 25th Sarajevo Film Festival, on 18 August 2019.

PRAGUE: One Czech animated film and one Polish documentary are among the 2019 Student Academy Awards finalists. The winners of the student Oscars will be announced in Los Angeles on 17 October 2019.

VALLETTA: The National Book Council of Malta has launched the first call for applications for the NBC Film Adaptation Fund, which addresses all stages of development and production of one winning project. The winner of the 200,000 EUR support will be announced on 9 November 2019.

Take a closer look at the documentary project Comfortable Century / Pohodlné století (Czech Republic) by Jaroslav Kratochvíl, which was selected for the 17th edition of Ex Oriente Film out of a record number of 107 submitted projects from 40 countries.

TIMIȘOARA: Eight feature films were selected for the competition of the Timișoara Central European Film Festival, running from 28 August to 1 September 2019. The theme of the edition is rEvolutions as the festival celebrates 30 years since the fall of the Iron Curtain and since the Romanian Revolution.
