KARLOVY VARY: The Polish comedy/drama Fucking Bornholm directed by Anna Kazejak and starring Agnieszka Grochowska and Maciej Stuhr, has been acquired by London-based sales agent Film Republic. The film is running in the Crystal Globe Competition at the 56th edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (1 – 9 July 2022).

TARTU: Sander Joon’s short animated film Sierra, winner of Best Baltic Short and Special Prize at the 2annas ISFF 2022, will open the 17th edition of PÖFF's Tartu Love Film Festival aka Tartuff, which will run in Tartu’s historic Town Hall Square 1-6 August 2022.

RIGA: The dark comedy Samuel's Travels by Latvian/Armenian director Aik Karapetian will be theatrically released in Los Angeles as well as on VOD in the USA and Canada on 19 August 2022. Cranked Up Films, the genre-focused label of Good Deed Entertainment, is distributing it in North America.

LUXEMBOURG: Producers (fiction, documentary and TV series), who are already working in the film and television industries, are welcome to apply for the EAVE Producers Workshop 2023 till 29 August 2022.

KARLOVY VARY: The first edition of the Film Distribution Innovation Hub workshop will be held on 5 July 2022 within the 56th Karlovy Vary IFF, organised by Europa Distribution. About 25 European independent distributors will participate.

After a short pause due to the pandemic, Europa Distribution is finally back in Karlovy Vary (CZ) to
organise its distribution workshop in the scope of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

About 25 independent distributors, coming from all around Europe, will participate in the first
edition of the Film Distribution Innovation Hub and take part in the KVIFF’s activities

This year for the seventh time FNE together with FIPRESCI are organising the ratings of all feature films in the main Crystal Globe competition, and for the first time the Proxima competition of the official Karlovy Vary International Film Festival programme by international critics attending the Festival.

ŽILINA: The German production Thing directed by Malte Stein was awarded Best Short at the 25th edition of Fest Anča International Animation Festival, the only Slovak multimedia festival focusing on animated film, which took place in Žilina 29 June – 3 July 2022.

KARLOVY VARY: Ten films from outstanding young European directors will be presented in the Future Frames programme organised by European Film Promotion and the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
