BUCHAREST: Romanian writer/director Andrei Cohn is preparing to shoot his third feature film Gefilte Fish in April 2022. The film will be produced by Anca Puiu through Romania’s Mandragora in coproduction with French Shellac films and Swiss Bord Cadre.

STRASBOURG: Projects by Ralitza Petrova, Hanna Slak, Una Gunjak, Signe Birkova, Ivan Zachariáš, and Alexandru Solomon are among the seven majority and minority coproductions from FNE partner countries that received coproduction support from Eurimages in its last batch, the results of which were announced on 30 March 2022.

ZAGREB: Eight projects have been selected for ZagrebDox Pro, the industry platform of the ZagrebDox International Documentary Film Festival. This year ZagrebDox Pro adds Confessions to its name and will focus on students and young professionals. The event will take place 5-8 April 2022.

VARNA: Short films experimenting with the video medium, dance and movement, with a strong choreographic sensibility and original concept, are welcome in the international competition of the 7th edition of the Moving Body Festival (28 October-6 November 2022). The deadline for applications is 18 June 2022.

LOS ANGELES: Hungarian set designer Zsuzsanna Sipos has been awarded an Academy Award for production design together with Canadian production designer Patrice Vermette for Dune, at the 94th ceremony held in Los Angeles on 28 March 2022.

BERLIN: The International Confederation of Arthouse Cinemas (CICAE) is launching a brand new six-month mentoring programme for senior exhibitors starting April 2022. Exhibitors and programmers of independent cinema theatres worldwide are invited to apply till 31 March 2022.
