WARSAW: Aleksandra Terpińska’s debut feature Other People has been sold by Polish New Europe Film Sales to British Magnetes Pictures, which will release it not only in the UK and Ireland, but also in Germany, Austria, Benelux, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Iceland.

VILNIUS: Twenty projects from 18 countries will take part in the Coming Soon pitching session within Meeting Point Vilnius, the industry platform of the Vilnius IFF Kino Pavasaris, which will take place in a hybrid format from 30 March to 1 April 2022.

PRAGUE: Despite some reprieve from the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, Czech film exhibitors recorded market instability throughout last year and the beginning of 2022, with theatres unable to attract pre-crisis audience numbers.

RIGA: The Riga International Film Festival has launched the call for applications for its new edition set for 13 - 23 October 2022. Feature, short, and children's films, as well as music videos can be submitted free of charge till 22 April 2022.

CANNES: New projects by Georgian Levan Koguashvili (Guria), Bulgarian Stephan Komandarev (Made in EU) and Czech Tomas Weinreb & Petr Kazda (The Forest) are among the 15 projects selected for the 18th edition of Cannes’ L’Atelier (22-27 May 2022).

WARSAW: The Dress / Sukienka by Tadeusz Łysiak, which is nominated for the Academy Awards 2022 in the Short Film (Live Action) category, has been acquired by HBO Max.

BUDAPEST: Kino Lorber will release The Round-Up (1966), The Red and the White (1967), The Confrontation (1968), Winter Wind (1969), Red Psalm (1971), and Electra, My Love (1974) on a Miklós Jancsó Collection on Blu-ray in May 2022.

PRAGUE: The Panel discussion Festivals 2.0: How to Approach the Audience in the Post-COVID Era, organised by the Institute of Documentary Film in cooperation with Film New Europe and One World Film Festival, and supported by the International Visegrad Fund, will be held on 30 March 2022 at 5:30 pm (CET) at Kino 35 (French Institute in Prague) within the East Doc Platform.
