VALLETTA: The leading Maltese telecommunication company GO will invest 5 m EUR in original content for the TV channel TOKIS over the coming years.

All active journalists, film critics, bloggers, photographers, influencers and other social media content producers are welcome to apply. In 2023, the festival hosted 115 journalists from 46 countries. Let's see if we can top the numbers this year.

SHORT RIGA Test Screenings – a one of a kind industry event in the Baltic region focusing specifically on the in-depth evaluation of short films – that will celebrate its 10th edition this October (25–26 October) announces the lineup of 2024.

COTTBUS: The 26th edition of the East-West co-production market connecting cottbus (coco) has announced the selection for cocoPITCH (projects in development) and cocoWIP (works in progress). coco will take place 6 - 8 November 2024 during the FilmFestival Cottbus (5 – 10 November 2024).

PRAGUE: CEE Animation Workshop has opened applications for its 7th edition, which will be held in 2025. The deadline for submissions is 8 November 2024.

RIGA: Sixteen projects (eight feature films and eight series) from the Baltics and Eastern as well as Central Europe have been selected for the 3rd edition of RIGA IFF SHOWCASE. The coproduction market will be held 24 – 26 October within the Riga International Film Festival (Riga IFF, 17 – 27 October 2024).

The 7th edition of the year-long training programme will consist of 4 modules and will help develop 12 animated projects as well as enhance the skills of producers and creative teams. The Workshop welcomes two new group leaders, producers Reka Temple and Annemie Degryse. The deadline for submissions is 8 November 2024.

The East-West co-production market connecting cottbus presents the projects of its 26th edition taking place on 6-8 November 2024 during the FilmFestival Cottbus.

STRASBOURG: Latvian animated film Flow by Gints Zilbalodis and Romanian/Cypriot/Bulgarian minority coproduction Animal by Sofia Exarchou are among the five titles nominated for LUX – The European Audience Film Award 2025, presented by the European Parliament and the European Film Academy in partnership with the European Commission and Europa Cinemas.
