BERLIN: A total of 17 German productions and coproductions will screen in various sections at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, which will be held 28 August – 7 September 2024.

MESTIA: Georgian film It's Not Far Here by Timur Chopliani received the award for best film in the International Competition of the 4th Svaneti International Film Festival DALI, where it had its world premiere. The festival ran in Mestia, Georgia, from 15 to 21 July 2024.

The festival will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the author along with the centenary of the Surrealist movement and examine its role during the Cold War. Švankmajer retrospective screenings will take place over two weekends,19–20 and 26–27 October,at the festival’s main venue, cinema Splendid Palace. A documentary film on the director’s life and work will be screened online throughout Latvia.
