TBILISI: One of the most acclaimed Georgian new directors, Rusudan Glurjidze, currently reaping awards with her debut feature House of Others, will participate in the European Film Promotion event Europe! Voices of Women in Film at the Sydney Film Festival in June 2017.
FNE has teamed up with FIPRESCI critics attending the Cannes Film Festival to rate the films in the Main Competition, Un Certain Regard, Directors' Fortnight and Critics Week, giving the films 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 stars. 5 is the best and 1 is the worst. The ratings give an overview of critics opinions from a large number of countries and provide insights to what critics in many different countries think about the programme.
A band composed of disabled singers is the subject for the Czech documentary Lust for Life by Radovan Síbrt.
CANNES: The Macedonian Association of Film Producers has become a member of the International Federation of Film Producers Associations, FIAPF.
Storytek, a new content and media tech incubator launches in Tallinn, Estonia with a purpose to help content creators, producers and early stage digital media startups and entrepreneurs to fast-track their product and services to the global markets as well as help them to access new forms of mentoring and financing from venture capital and the tech community. Enterprise Estonia, the business development and export support platform of Estonian government has funded Storytek through its Creative Incubators support program.
TALLINN: Black Nights Film Festival and its industry platform Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event are backing the launch of Storytek, a new content and media tech incubator that held a pilot event during the 2016 festival.
