During a brief ceremony held in the framework of the annual When East Meets West Co-production Forum in Trieste, the representatives of Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund and Slovenian Film Centre, the partner funds of the transregional audiovisual cooperation and training initiative RE–ACT set up in 2015, announced a selection of six projects, recipients of the second round of RE–ACT co-development funding support.

WHEN EAST MEETS WEST 2017 will bring together over 350 producers, financiers, decision makers and film professionals from more than 30 countries, and, in particular, from the spotlight territories. 2017 upcoming edition will bring some fresh air with a slightly refined format launching for the very first time a new East & West double focus on France and the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania).

BERLIN: Several films from CEE countries have been selected for all the sections of the 67th Berlin International Film Festival, set to take place from 9 to 19 February 2017. Four from among the 23 films competing for the Golden Bear were made by CEE directors.

VILNIUS: The European Film Forum (EFF), which has already visited Cannes, Berlin, Venice and other major film festivals, will be held at the Vilnius International Film Festival Kino Pavasaris on 6 April 2017.

WARSAW: Tomasz Wasilewski’s drama United States of Love was released in Romanian cinemas by Transilvania Film on 20 January 2017. The film has recently been released in Denmark and Hungary in December 2016.

Eleven projects were selected for Project Market 2017. The selected projects will take part in individual meetings with professionals (TV, sales, festivals and distributors) from Europe and North America in order to negotiate release for their documentaries.

PRAGUE: Editors, directors and producers are invited to apply to the dok.incubator rough-cut workshop 2017. The deadline is 1 February 2017. They will work with top internationally-active mentors for six months.
