Tallinn – Northeastern Europe’s largest film celebration, the 19th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (BNFF) is proud to reveal four hot competition titles ahead of the rest of its selection - two in Main Competition and two in its inaugural First Features Competition, all world and international premieres.

TBILISI: Acclaimed Georgian writer and screenwriter Revaz (Rezo) Cheishvili passed away at 82. He wrote the script of Eldar Shengelaia's famous Blue Mountains, or Unbelievable Story (1983, Kartuli Pilmi), an adaptation of his own story.

VENICE: FNE together with FIPRESCI invited FIPRESCI critics in Venice to rate the films in all four of the official competition programmes of the festival giving the films 1,2,3,4 or 5 stars.
TBILISI/VILNIUS: Levan Tutberidze's Moira and Alanté Kavaïté’s The Summer of Sangaile have been selected by Georgia and Lithuania to compete in the 88th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language film.
