VALLETTA: Hallmark’s mystery film The Dancing Detective: The Deadly Tango starring Lacey Chabert and Will Kemp is currently shooting in Malta. The premiere is set for later in 2023.

The Ji.hlava International Documentary Film festival brings to Bucharest five documentary films from its 2022 competition sections on March 7–11.

BUCHAREST: The acclaimed Romanian film director Stere Gulea started shooting The Moromete Family 3 / Moromeții 3 on 1 March 2023. The film is the third part of what started in 1987 as a one-time adaptation of the famous novel Moromeții by Marin Preda, directed by Stere Gulea, which was followed by a sequel in 2018, Moromete Family: On the Edge of Time / Moromeții 2 directed again by Gulea.

VILNIUS: Ten films have been selected for the Competition of the 28th Vilnius International Film Festival Kino Pavasaris, which will be held 16 – 26 March 2023.

TALLINN: The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) has opened submissions for its 27th edition, which will be held 3 - 19 November 2023. The deadline is 1 July 2023.

RIGA: Sony Pictures International Productions has optioned remake rights to the Latvian comedy Accidental Santa / Circenīša Ziemassvētki, written and directed by Aigars Grauba. The rights include North America, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Mexico and Brazil.

BUDAPEST: The Hungarian crime series Locked Up Secrets directed by Csillag Mano will air on Duna TV starting 20 March 2023. The 8-episode series was produced by Megafilm Service with support from the National Film Institute – Hungary (NFI).

BUCHAREST: The 3rd edition of the Film O'Clock International Film Festival, initiated by Romanian director/producer Mirona Radu, will be held 28 February – 4 March 2023 in seven cinemas from seven countries within the same time zone along the 25 degrees East longitude meridian.

RIGA: Over 30 titles will screen in two competitive programmes, Baltic Focus and Artdocfest Open, at the 3rd edition of Artdocfest, which will be held in Riga 2 – 9 March 2023.
