“”Paths of Hate” is most likely the best selling Polish animation in 2011. The film has been already sold to to broadcasters in Poland, Portugal, Italy, USA, Turkey, Taiwan and Sweden. Further deals in Germany, France, Spain and Finland are under negotiation. The film has also secured theatrical release in France and it will be soon available on iTunes. I’m very happy that thanks to cooperation with Tribeca Film Institute the film will be available to animation fans worldwide.” - says Jan Naszewski of New Europe Film Sales, the world sales agent for the film.
The latest animation from the renowned Warsaw-based Platige Image studio is a metaphorical fight of two fighter pilots, which illustrates the universal truth about hatered.
“I just felt the need to create something just as surrealistic but much more dynamic and serious. I have always been completely fascinated with everything that could fly. I could not imagine a subject more exciting than a duel of two fighter planes. I saw a photo taken probably in London during “Battle of Britain” in 1940. There were hundreds of white lines left by fighting planes. Like scars on the sky. Then I thought that some of them were the only remains left after planes and pilots who didn't survived this fight. These white trails are the most important elements in “Paths of Hate”. I have named the film because of them. These are the paths, from the title.” – says Damian Nenow, film director.
"Paths of Hate" has already been screened at about 100 festivals and got 27 awards including Comic-Con 2011 Best Animated Film and Judges’ Choice Award, Palm Springs IFF, Siggraph 2011 Jury Award. American Academy of Film and Science has chosen “Paths of Hate” to be one of 10 films competing for the nomination to 84th Oscar Award.
