LONDON: Life Through Cinema: September brought Georgian films within the focus of London (23-26 September) as "Riverside Studio" hosted a festival of Georgian films.

If you are a producer, a line producer, a production manager or a postproduction manager interested in acquiring precise, comprehensive and practical knowledge of today's production and postproduction digital workflows, DIGITAL PRODUCTION CHALLENGE is for you!

This 2,5-day European Workshop - supported by the MEDIA Programme - gives film professionals the methods, tools and strategies to:
  • Best position the production of their feature or documentary films within the digital workflow;
  • Grasp the means of communication and tasks division between the partners involved, from the director to the postproduction provider;
  • Understand the advantages and disadvantages of digital distribution.


An important part of the programme is devoted to reviewing the participants' film projects before investigating the perspectives opened by the 3D production.

Seven participants from the 12 new EU member states or from Croatia are eligible for a full scholarship covering travel and subsistence expenses.

The Film New Europe Visgrad Prix recognizes the feature and documentary films of the Central European region, promotes mutual cultural understanding and promotes professional co-operations international co-productions.

TBILISI: Georgian National Film Center announces competition on financing production of full- length feature film for the year of 2011. GNFC aims at financing Georgian films from state budget.

TBILISI: Georgia is opening its doors to European producers with its latest call from the Georgian National Film Center for funding of Georgian foreign coproductions.

WARSAW: Film New Europe together with the International Visegrad Fund has announced a new prize to for best feature and best documentary co-production from a Visegrad country. The prize is being awarded to recognize the artistic achievements of filmmakers in the Visegrad countries and to encourage cultural co-operation between partners within Visegrad countries and partners in other European countries of the European Union. The competitive prize is organized together with the support of CinePecs International Film Festival (www.cinepecs.hu) in Hungary, International Bratislava Film Festival (www.iffbratislava.sk) in Slovakia, Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival (www.dokument-festival.cz) in the Czech Republic and Era New Horizons International Film Festival (www.enh.pl) in Poland and Film Europe (www.kinocz.cz).

Friday 24th September 2010, Budapest, Hungary - CTAM Europe (Cable Telecommunications Association for Marketing) today announced the winners of the Creative Awards Program (CAP), a key highlight of the annual two day EuroSummit event .
Originally launched in 2007, the Creative Awards Program (CAP), has been open to submissions from all CTAM Europe members including cable operators, networks and content providers to recognize the excellence in cable marketing and honour outstanding creative achievements.

It's less than two weeks before Kaunas begins accepting special guests including world-famous filmmakers, critics, film industry representatives and even actors. This year, Kaunas International Film Festival will host a record number of guests and organise events in various venues all over the city. The organisers of the Festival promise to turn Kaunas into a real capital of film in October.
