SKOPJE: Four projects received 60,000 EUR in the first session of the Macedonian-Italian coproduction development fund created by the Macedonian Film Agency and the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage Activities and Tourism - Directorate General Cinema (DGC-MiBACT) in September 2015.

BITOLA: Macedonia’s Sektor Film is in postproduction with The Red Poet, a TV series by Nikolce Popovski about the famous Macedonian poet Kosta Racin. The first episode will be aired in January 2017.

SKOPJE: Acclaimed Macedonian actor Meto Jovanovski and Serbian-Montenegrin producer/director Branko Baletic are in preparation with Fear and Love, a feature film set to shoot in September/October 2017.

SKOPJE: The Serbian/Dutch/Greek coproduction Humidity / Vlažnost, directed by Nikola Ljuca, scooped the best film award in the official selection of the 15th Festival of European Film Cinedays, which closed on 19 November 2016.

SKOPJE: CutAway Films Distribution has launched “Festival-to-Date,” a new innovative distribution initiative, which will make films simultaneously available at festivals and online for the first time in the Balkans. The first screening takes place on 11 November 2016 at 17:00 at CINEDAYS Festival of European Film and Tirana International Film Festival, and will be made available on the VOD platform CineSquare in both countries

SKOPJE: A total of 14 European films will compete for the main prizes of the 15th edition of Cinedays, running 10 - 19 November in Skopje. Eight films will compete in the Official Programme and six in the CineBalkan Programme.

SKOPJE: Macedonian non-governmental organisation OXO is producing the TV series Prespav, which aired 31 October 2016 on TV Telma

SKOPJE: The Macedonian Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services reported that all commercial and public broadcasters generated total revenues of 3,102,260,000 MKD (around 50 million EUR) in 2015, which is a drop of 2.3% compared to 2014. The advertising revenue in the TV broadcast sector earned 27,466,970 EUR.

SKOPJE: Goran Trenchovski`s debut feature Golden Five / Zlatna petorka, about an event from 1951 when five students from Strumica were executed, is proving a success in Macedonian cinemas.

SKOPJE: Bulgarian duo Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov’s second feature Glory won the first KineNova International Film Festival, that ended on 9 October 2016 after five days of international feature and short film screenings from 15 countries.
