FNE at Skopje Film Festival: Angelovski Comedy Heads to Cinemas after Festival Premiere
North Macedonia 03-04-2017SKOPJE: Acclaimed 74-year old actor and director Kole Angelovski's comedy Oh My Love will have its world premiere at the 20th Skopje Film Festival (20-28 April 2017) on 21 April 2017 and will be released in Macedonian cinemas on 27 April 2017 by KT Film & Media .
SKOPJE: Macedonia will distribute 507,000 EUR / 31m MKD in 2017 as subsidies for production of domestic documentary and feature programmes on national TV stations and the public broadcaster Macedonian Radio Television. The decision was adopted by the Government during its last session in February 2017.
In 2016 Macedonia celebrated 25 years of filmmaking as an independent country. Macedonian film production remained high in 2016 with an annual budget from the Macedonian Film Agency of 6.5 m EUR. Macedonian producers continued to get involved in international coproductions, and most of the films made in 2016 were majority and minority coproductions. A Macedonian-Italian coproduction development fund was launched in 2016.
SKOPJE: Macedonian Film Agency will distribute 1,952,171 EUR / 120,250,000 MKD in production grants for feature, short, animation films and documentaries.
PRODUCTION: Acclaimed Theater Director in Postproduction with Bosnian/Macedonian/Croatian/Serbian Coproduction
Bosnia-Herzegovina 12-01-2017SARAJEVO: Frog, the first feature film by well-known Bosnian theatre and TV series director Elmir Jukić, has entered postproduction. The film is a Bosnian/Macedonian/Croatian/Serbian coproduction.
SKOPJE: Four projects received 60,000 EUR in the first session of the Macedonian-Italian coproduction development fund created by the Macedonian Film Agency and the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage Activities and Tourism - Directorate General Cinema (DGC-MiBACT) in September 2015.
BITOLA: Macedonia’s Sektor Film is in postproduction with The Red Poet, a TV series by Nikolce Popovski about the famous Macedonian poet Kosta Racin. The first episode will be aired in January 2017.
PRODUCTION: Macedonian Feature Coproduction Fear and Love in Preproduction
North Macedonia 29-11-2016SKOPJE: Acclaimed Macedonian actor Meto Jovanovski and Serbian-Montenegrin producer/director Branko Baletic are in preparation with Fear and Love, a feature film set to shoot in September/October 2017.
SKOPJE: The Serbian/Dutch/Greek coproduction Humidity / Vlažnost, directed by Nikola Ljuca, scooped the best film award in the official selection of the 15th Festival of European Film Cinedays, which closed on 19 November 2016.
SKOPJE: CutAway Films Distribution has launched “Festival-to-Date,” a new innovative distribution initiative, which will make films simultaneously available at festivals and online for the first time in the Balkans. The first screening takes place on 11 November 2016 at 17:00 at CINEDAYS Festival of European Film and Tirana International Film Festival, and will be made available on the VOD platform CineSquare in both countries
