PRODUCTION: Soso Chkaidze’s TV Series/Feature Film Completed After 40 Years
TBILISI: Georgian film director Soso Chkhaidze's TV series/feature film Shvidkaca is being completed posthumously almost 30 years after the director’s death, and more than 40 years after he began filming. The film, whose working title is the word used to describe folk ensembles, is in the final phase of post-production. Principal photography took place In Tbilisi, Guria villages, Moscow and Stockholm from 1979 to 1987. The producer is Chkhaidze's widow, Nana Zurabishvili.

WARSAW: Other People, a Warner Bros.- Madants coproduction based on the 2018 bestselling novel by Dorota Masłowska, has entered the post-production stage. The film directed by Aleksandra Trepińska received support from the Mazovia Warsaw Film Commission and the Polish Film Institute. It will open in cinemas in the fall of 2021.
Mega Hit TV Series Besa 2 Completes Filming in Montenegro
PODGORICA: Besa 2, a continuation of one of the most successful and popular Balkan TV series, has completed the Montenegrin shoot for its second season, which began in the autumn of 2020. Besa is the only regional series with a planned remake for the Arabic-speaking audience, with more than 400 million spectators, and has redefined regional TV series production standards.

BUDAPEST: Dóra Szűcs's second film, Budapest, Where the Love Starts / Budapest, ahol a szerelem kezdődik finished shooting in Hungary, before moving to Vietnam to continue filming. „This is the first feature film coproduced by Hungary and Vietnam. Moreover, it's the first coproduction between an EU member country and Vietnam,” producer Lea György of Solve Art told FNE.

TBILISI: The notable Georgian film and theatre director and producer Gela Kandelaki is currently in production with his documentary film The Thought. The first shoot took place in 2011-2012 in Georgia. Additional funds are needed to complete the filming and final editing. The project is funded by the GNFC and produced by Kvali XXI.

BUDAPEST: Gentle Monster / Jámbor szörnyeteg, the story of a woman bodybuilder directed by Anna Nemes and László Csuja, completed the first phase of production on 9 December 2020. Shooting will resume in the second half of January 2021.

RIGA: Latvian documentary director Uģis Olte has completed the principal shooting for his debut fiction feature film, a mythological thriller Upurga, produced by Uldis Cekulis and Raitis Ābele at VFS Films.

PODGORICA: The Montenegrin/Serbian full-length documentary Djina, directed by Sara Stijovic, received a 20,000 EUR grant from Film Center Serbia. It was one of eight projects receiving grants in the minority production category, out of 43 projects submitted.

BRATISLAVA: Nobody Likes Me / Nikto ma nemá rád by Czech directors Tomáš Weinreb and Petr Kazda is in preproduction. The drama is produced by the Slovak company Arytmia Film and the Czech company Black Balance and coproduced by Arizona Productions (France) and Bord Cadre Films (Switzerland).
PRODUCTION: British/Hungarian Mrs Harris Goes to Budapest
BUDAPEST: The British/Hungarian coproduction Mrs Harris Goes to Paris is currently filming in Hungary until the end of November 2020. The film will move on to Paris and London to shoot additional scenes. Anthony Fabian's comedy is the newest adaptation of Paul Gallico's bestseller set in the 1950s, about an English cleaning lady who falls in love with a Dior dress and goes to Paris to buy the expensive garment.
