TBILISI: Georgian director Otar Shamatava is in postproduction with Ursus, a Ukrainian/ Georgian/German/ Bulgarian coproduction that he shot in Georgia after a long break.

TBILISI: The acclaimed Georgian director Zaza Urushadze is currently in postproduction with his new feature film Anton, a coproduction between Georgia, the Ukraine and the USA, expected to premiere in a festival in the winter of 2018 or spring of 2019.

WARSAW: Polish box office hit writer/director Ryszard Zatorski wrapped shooting for There Is No Sin in Bad Luck / Pech to nie grzech, an independent romantic comedy starring Barbara Kurdej-Szatan.

RADOM: Polish director Jacek Gwizdała is working on a biopic project The Priest / Klecha, planned as a feature drama and a TVP three-part mini-series, and focusing on Roman Kotlarz, a priest oppressed by the Communist regime.

BELGRADE: A forty-episode TV series Morning Changes Everything is currently in production in Serbia. The first four episodes of this Serbian/Bosnian coproduction were screened within the Sarajevo Film Festival’s Avant Premiere programme last week.

WARSAW: Director/screenwriter Maciej Pieprzyca is in preparation with Ikarus. The story of Mietek Kosz, a biopic about the famous Polish pianist Mietek Kosz (1944-1973), who lost his eyesight when he was 12 and died tragically at the age of 29.

BUCHAREST: Writer/director Ioana Mischie (Fulbright Alumna, Berlinale Talents Alumna) is currently in production with Government of Children, a pioneering transmedia world reuniting a 3D state of the art feature film and an expanded webseries.

BELGRADE: Serbian documentary filmmaker Tamara von Steiner is currently in production with Road to Agartha, the first Serbian film production to be entirely shot in Vietnam. Von Steiner’s third long observational documentary is supported by Film Center Serbia.

SOFIA: Bulgarian Director Stanislav Donchev is in postproduction with his third feature film Letters from Antarctica, a deep psychological drama about a single mother incapable of confessing to her eight year-old son that his father died in a car accident. The film stars Bulgarian famous actress Irmena Chichikova.

BUCHAREST: Iura Luncaşu is currently shooting Do It or Shut Up/Faci sau taci, a comedy he is also producing. His previous comedy Ghinionistul, was the Romanian film with the best box office in 2017 (223,840 EUR / 1,007,284 RON gross). Former artistic gymnast and double Olympic champion Sandra Izbaşa is making her first steps in cinema.

TBILISI: Directors Dato Abramishvili and Giorgi Gogichaishvili are currently in preproduction with their debut feature Inga, which will be a coproduction between Georgia, Luxembourg and Lithuania set for shooting in September 2018.

SKOPJE: Macedonian director Igor Aleksov is currently shooting his debut feature Lena and Vladimir, which has been supported by the Macedonian Film Agency. The film is a 100% domestic production.

BELGRADE: USA- based French director Alexandre Aja has just started shooting his new feature film Crawl in the capital city of Serbia with Work in Progress company servicing. Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert are producing through Ghost House Pictures together with Alexandre Aja for Paramount Pictures. The film will be entirely shot in Belgrade.

WROCŁAW: Ewa Puszczyńska is developing Tomasz Wasilewski new drama Fools/Głupcy (working title), which will be a Polish/Romanian coproduction together with the Romanian Ada Solomon and lensed by Romanian Oleg Mutu. Producer of Oscar winning Ida talked to FNE during 9th NH Studio+ (27-30 July 2018) taking place at the 18th New Horizons IFF in Wrocław.

SOFIA: Bulgarian director Kostadin Bonev is completing postproduction on his new feature film Away From the Shore (aka Wolves around Us). This Bulgarian/Ukrainian coproduction is a personal interpretation of the clash between creative people and censorship during communism.

BELGRADE: Belgrade Escape by Wang Zhongyan, the first Serbian/Chinese coproduction, started shooting in Belgrade on 26 July 2018. The film is a coproduction between Chinese Fujian Broken Films and Serbian Emote Films, and is budgeted at around 1.5 m EUR.
