FNE together with UNIFRANCE is launching the Year of French Central European Films 2025 with a special focus on French films in Central and Eastern European countries plus Cyprus and Malta, and our partner countries’ films screening in France.

BUCHAREST: British-Romanian directors Anton and Damian Groves are currently filming their debut feature King Wray in Bucharest. The film is a coproduction between the company the Groves founded in Romania, Studioset, together with France’s Midralgar and Croatia’s Marinis Media.

COTTBUS: The East-West co-production market connecting cottbus is now open for submissions of feature film projects. Its 27th edition will be held 5 - 7 November, during the 35th FilmFestival Cottbus (4 – 9 November 2025).

BERLIN: The world’s largest arthouse initiative will take place on 23 November 2025 in over 50 countries worldwide. The European Arthouse Cinema Day initiated by the global nonprofit International Confederation of Arthouse Cinemas – CICAE is the oldest, largest and most significant film-political initiative in the world.

BELGRADE: Over 80 films from around the world and Serbia will screen in the competitive and non-competitive sections of the 18th Beldocs International Documentary Film Festival, which will take place in Belgrade 21 – 27 May 2025.

VALLETTA: The British television crime drama The Good Ship Murder created by Paul Matthew Thompson and Mike Benson is currently shooting its third season in Malta. The production is supported through the Malta Film Commission’s Cash Rebate programme.
