ZAGREB: Tereza37 by Danilo Šerbedžija has been selected by the Filmmakers’ Association of Croatia as the Croatian candidate for the 94th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category.

TALLINN: The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, which celebrates its 25th anniversary from 12 to 28 November 2021, has announced the first six titles from its Official Selection competition.

BUDAPEST: Hungarian legendary filmmaker Márta Mészáros will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 34th European Film Awards Ceremony on 11 December 2021.

BUDAPEST: Péter Bergendy’s period horror Post Mortem has been selected by the Hungarian Oscar Selection Committee as Hungary’s candidate for the 94th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category.

BUCHAREST: Alina Grigore’s debut feature and winner of the Golden Shell at the 69th San Sebastian FF, Blue Moon / Crai Nou has been sold by Patra Spanou Film for distribution in Spain.

LUXEMBOURG: The 14th edition of the CinEast Film Festival will focus on Slovenia, which is celebrating 30 years of independence and is currently holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The 2021 CinEast Film Festival will take place in a hybrid format in Luxembourg 7-24 October 2021.

PRAGUE: The CEE Animation Workshop will open to participants from all MEDIA participating countries in 2022, not just from countries with low production capacity. The submission deadline is 15 November 2021.

This year, the CinEast Film Festival will focus on Slovenia, described in the announcement as “a country with a rich and interesting film history, celebrating thirty years of independence and currently holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union”. The 14th edition of the Festival will take place in a hybrid form at various festival venues in Luxembourg between 7 and 24 October.
