BUDAPEST: Lili Horvát’s sophomore feature Preparations to Be Together for an Unknown Period of Time / Felkészülés meghatározatlan ideig tartó együttlétre is Hungary's candidate for the 93rd Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the best international feature film category.

LJUBLJANA: The 17th edition of Animateka will screen 33 short animated films at this year’s festival, which will be held online from 30 November to 9 December 2020. Six projects from former Yugoslavian countries have been selected for Animateka PRO Pitch, taking place on 1 December.

The selection includes seven new Russian series, the latest work by two-time Academy Award nominee Steve James and the world premiere of Estonian thriller In the Line of Fire.

Entering its third year, the TV Beats section sees a programme introducing exciting new series to the festival’s audience and industry, backed by a rich virtual programme of panels and case studies.

Today, the 19th edition of Industry@Tallinn &; Baltic Event, taking place virtually this year, kicks off with its online programme including over 50 workshops, panels and seminars, hundreds of 1:1 meetings, and more than 800 accredited film industry professionals.

According to Marge Liiske, Head of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, the record number of people interested in the event has pushed the team to put together an exhaustive programme with business, networking and learning elements. “2020 has forced also festivals and film markets to experiment and find new ways to operate. The models used until now are no longer effective, yet we still need to build fruitful business relationships, even if only online. In order to cope with changes, professionals need to have a good foresight about the future - what competencies and skills are needed, what kind of films to develop and produce, etc. Be informed, listen to the audiences, learn from your fellow professionals, analyse the course of history, and make it your own. And not only that - be kind, be attentive, connect with people - it is the key to the survival. We are giving only some of the tools that help you to move forward, as our colleagues from other film industry events have and will give theirs, so keep informed. ”

The Cyprus Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth and the Rialto Theatre announce that the Call for Entries for the 19th Cyprus Film Days International Festival 2021, is now open.

The 18th edition, which was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic (Covid-19), is followed by the 19th edition in 2021, which will take place from the 16th to 24th of April 2021.

The Festival, now in its 19th edition, will host for the 11th consecutive year an international competition section entitled «Glocal Images», inviting fiction feature films from Cyprus and abroad to submit their works. The Artistic Committee of the Festival decided to incorporate a Cypriot Films Competition Section, given that they fulfill the criteria as stated in the Festival Rules and Regulations.
