Industry@Tallinn has selected five young actors and actresses to join the 2018 Black Nights Stars programme, to be presented during Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. Formerly Screen Stars Tallinn, Black Nights Stars runs for the second time, with the aim of promoting young actors and actresses from the Baltic Sea region.
This year’s Cottbus Film Festival will screen one majority and two minority Croatian co-productions. The Load, by Ognjen Glavonić, will compete in the feature film programme, while F20, by Arsen Anton Ostojić, and Breathing into Marble, by Giedrė Beinoriūtė, will screen in the ‘Spectrum’ programme. The Cottbus Festival is taking place from November 6th to 11th.
MIDPOINT TV Launch 2019 starts on Sunday, November 11 with its first workshop taking place in Slovak Republic.
The Arras Film Festival kicked off on November 2nd and will run until the 11th. This year, besides its regular programme, the festival is organising a focus programme with the theme of the former Yugoslav war in the 90s named ‘Conflicts in the Balkans: The Ex-Yugoslav War’. A total of 12 films will screen, of which two are Croatian: Witnesses by Vinko Brešan and The Living and the Dead by Kristijan Milić.
The minority Croatian co-production, the feature documentary film The Road Movie, directed by Dimitrij Kalashnikov, whose co-producer is Srđan Šarenac and Novi Film, is an Oscar Award nomination candidate.
