BRATISLAVA: Ten Slovak feature films, one TV film, and five Slovak minority coproductions have received production grants from the Slovak Audiovisual Fund (www.avf.sk).

The 10th Worldfilm (www.worldfilm.ee) festival to be held 18 – 24 March 2013 in Tartu, Estonia, has opened its call for submissions.

The deadline for film submissions is 15 October. There is no entry fee.

WARSAW: The Toronto International Film Festival will present the world premieres of three Polish films: Baby Blues by Katarzyna Rosłaniec, Imagine by Andrzej Jakimowski, and the Polish coproduction Igor and the Cranes' Journey by Evgeny Ruman.

 

BUCHAREST: The second edition of Romania’s only film market, Golden Carpathian (www.goldencarpathian.com) is underway through 26 August 2012 in Bucharest.

The U.S. TV channel TLC plans Polish versions of three reality TV programmes for its Polish station, TLC Polska (www.tlcpolska.pl). : Mad About the House, The Great Polish Bake-Off, and Masters of Make-up.

 


BRATISLAVA: Former Markiza TV (
www.markiza.sk) CEO Vaclav Mika has been elected as general director of public broadcaster Slovak Radio and Television (www.rtvs.eu).

 

RIGA: Latvia will host the first FF Riga international film festival 10-12 September 2012, an “homage” to the Arsenals film festival which was suspended as of March 2012 for lack of funding.
