LIBEREC: Winter / Zima (Poland) by Tomek Popakul and Kasumi Ozeki received the award for Best Film in the International Competition for Short Films at the 23rd edition of the International Festival of Animated Films – Anifilm held in Liberec, Czech Republic from 7 to 12 May 2024.
BUDAPEST: Government Commissioner and head of the National Film Institute – Hungary (NFI) Csaba Káel, and Mao Yu, head of the China Film Administration, signed an agreement on wide-ranging cooperation with the aim of promoting the cooperation of Hungarian and Chinese professionals and launching joint film projects.

FESTIVALS: Awards for Apple Film Production at Mastercard OFF CAMERA Film Festival 2024
Poland 07-05-2024CRACOW: Polish production house Apple Film Production scooped several awards at the 17th edition of the Mastercard OFF CAMERA International Festival of Independent Cinema, held in Cracow 26 April – 5 May 2024.
Sonja Prosenc’s third feature, Family Therapy, was selected as one of the ten films in the main international competition of the Tribeca Film Festival, founded in 2002 by actor Robert De Niro. This year, the Tribeca festival received a record 13,016 submissions from all over the world.
VALLETTA: A new film from the Jurassic World franchise, starring Scarlett Johansson, is expected to be shot at the Malta Film Studios from July to September 2024.
ZAGREB: Six films including a Hungarian production have been selected for the Grand Competition – Feature Film of the World Festival of Animated Film – Animafest Zagreb, which will be held 3 – 8 June 2024.
BUCHAREST: Romanian producer and distributor Matei Dima carries the day as his new project Buzz House: The Movie directed by Florin Babei sets an opening record in Romania with 249,105 admissions and 1.49 m EUR / 7,211,155 RON gross.
