A new edition of Animation Think Tank, an industry conference meeting organized by CEE Animation Workshop in collaboration with the Animafest World Festival of Animated Film, was held in Zagreb on June 4 and 5. High-level animation industry professionals from different territories and production environments joined two Zagreb sessions to discuss the main topic: an International Co-Development Support Mechanism for animated projects.

Zagreb, 11.06.2024. - Last weekend in Zagreb, began filming for the children's movie "Glavonja," featuring five talented young actors. The story of ten-year-old Alisa and her older autistic brother Milan, who, along with three young detectives, embark on a somewhat surreal adventure, is directed by Marina Andree Škop and Vanda Raýmanová.

The leading documentary pitching event in the Baltic countries, Baltic Sea Docs, has finalized the project selection for its 28th edition, scheduled to take place in Riga on 1-6 September 2024. The selection includes 22 projects currently in development and production, as well as four projects in the post-production stage in the forum's “Coming Soon” session.

ZAGREB: The Grand Prix in the Grand Competition Short Film of the World Festival of Animated Film – Animafest Zagreb (3 – 8 June 2024) went to the Dutch/Belgian/French The Miracle directed by Nienke Deutz. The Feature Film Competition was won by the Spanish/German coproduction Sultana’s Dream directed by Isabel Herguer.

PRAGUE: CEE Animation will once again participate in MIFA, the world’s biggest animation market, taking place 11 - 14 June 2024 in Annecy. Besides promoting Central and Eastern European animated films, authors and their projects, CEE Animation’s activities in Annecy will include various networking opportunities as well as meetings between project holders and international coproducers.

The documentary has been selected for the International Competition at the 35th edition of the FID Marseille Festival, which will take place from June 25 to 30, 2024

DUBROVNIK: Over 260 companies from Europe and the USA will take part in the 11th edition of NEM Dubrovnik. This important TV market in Central and Eastern Europe will be held 10 – 13 June 2024 at the Hotel Dubrovnik Palace.

This fall, the biggest film event of Latvia, Riga International Film Festival (RIGA IFF) will delight the senses of filmgoers with more than 100 screenings of bold and fresh filmmaker visions, selected from the world’s most prestigious film festival programmes, as well as from the kindred Baltic Sea region cinema. Uniting both local audiences and foreign guests, with its motto, Witnessing the World of Another, the programme will be screened over 11 days, 17-27 October, at the festival’s main venue, cinema Splendid Palace, as well as Forum Cinemas, the National Library of Latvia, and online throughout Latvia.
