WARSAW: Maciej Barczewski has wrapped shooting on Master / Mistrz, a biopic of Tadeusz „Teddy” Pietrzykowski, a boxer who won the title of master of the German concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. The film starring acclaimed Polish actor Piotr Głowacki will open domestically in the fall of 2020.

PRAGUE: Juraj Jakubisko is currently in postproduction with his new magical family fantasy Perinbaba and the Two Worlds, after more than two years of complicated production. The Czech/Slovak coproduction will be released by Bontonfilm in both the Czech and Slovak Republic in the first half of 2020.

BELGRADE: Darko Nikolić is currently in production with his debut feature, the crime thriller The Only Way Out / Jedini izlaz, one of the very few crime thrillers in contemporary Serbian cinema. The project is supported by Film Center Serbia.

SKOPJE: Macedonian director Vardan Tozija is in postproduction with his second feature film M, a coproduction between North Macedonia, Croatia, Kosovo and Greece. The premiere is planned for the second half of 2020.

ZAGREB: Filming for The Death of the Little Match Girl, based on a novel by famous Croatian writer Zoran Ferić, will start in the autumn of 2020. This Mediterranean noir is directed by Goran Kulenović and produced by Livada Produkcija with support from the Croatian Audiovisual Centre.

WARSAW: Jan Holoubek is in postproduction with 25 Years of Innocence. The Case of Tomek Komenda, a drama following the tragic story of a man who had served 18 years in prison before he was found not guilty in 2018.

WARSAW: Acclaimed Polish director Maciej Drygas is currently in production with Trains, a documentary he is also producing through Drygas Film Production in coproduction with Rasa Miškinytė through Lithuania’s Era Film.

SKOPJE: Producers Vladimir Atanasovski and Angela Nestorovska from Sektor Film are in final postproduction with The Hardest Thing / Najteskoto nesto directed by acclaimed Turkish director Serdar Akar. This Macedonian/Turkish coproduction is the first Macedonian film in the Turkish language.

BUCHAREST: Writer/director Andrei Gruzsniczki is currently in postproduction with his fourth feature film, Emil (working title), a 100% Romanian coproduction supported by the Romanian Film Centre.

BELGRADE: The new Serbian production company Firefly is currently in production with two quality TV drama series, The Clan directed by Boban Skerlić and Tycoon directed by Miroslav Terzić (Stiches / Šavovi).

TBILISI: Georgian director Rusudan Chkonia is starting preproduction on the Georgian/Swiss/Norwegian feature drama Venice. Rusudan Chkonia is an awarded Georgian director, who participated in the Berlinale Talent Campus and the Residence du Festival de Cannes and whose debut feature film Keep Smiling premiered in Venice.

VILNIUS: Lithuanian director Andrius Blaževičius is in postproduction with his second feature film Paralysis / Paralyžius. Principle photography in Lithuania started on 15 July 2019 and wrapped on 25 August 2019.

BELGRADE: Serbian helmer Darko Bajić is shooting his new feature film Svetozar Miletić (aka Fathers of Liberty / Očevi slobode) on location in Serbia, including Belgrade, Novi Sad, Sremski Karlovci, Vršac, Subotica and Sombor.

BRATISLAVA: Slovak director Marek Kuboš is in production with documentary +/-90, and is working on his debut feature The Secret / Tajomstvo. Both films are produced by Kuboš‘s own production company PSYCHÉ film, which produced his recent film The Last Self-Portrait, which was a successful return after several years of creative pause.

BRATISLAVA: The acclaimed Slovak documentary director Peter Kerekes is in postproduction with Censor / Cenzorka, a Slovak/Czech/Ukrainian coproduction, which is the first fiction film of the filmmaker known for his documentaries Cooking History and 66 Seasons.
