SKOPJE: Academy award nominated Macedonian film director Milcho Manchevski started shooting his sixth feature film Willow / Vrba, produced by Banana Film, in the Macedonian village Krushevica. The shooting, which started on 25 October 2018 and will wrap at the beginning of December, will also take place in the picturesque Mariovo villages of Stavica, Dunje and Zovich, Treskavec, in the Prespa region and in different locations in Skopje.

BELGRADE: The Film Fund of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the most recent fund to provide support for Mirjana Karanović’s fiction feature Mara, with a grant of 55,000 KM / 28,121 EUR. The film is planned as a coproduction between Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Croatia and Montenegro.

PRAGUE: Irena Pavlásková is shooting The Prague Orgy, based on the novel by the famous American writer Philip Roth, who died earlier this year. The project with international cast is shot in English.

LJUBLJANA: Italian director Davide Del Degan has started shooting on a Slovenian minority coproduction Paradise with Katarina Čas, in the Slovenian town Grosuplje. The 30-day shoot, which will also take place in Piran and in Sauris (Italy), will wrap on 30 November 2018.

BRATISLAVA: One of Slovakia’s busiest filmmakers, award winning director Peter Bebjak, is in preproduction with the feature film The Report / Správa about Alfréd Wetzler and Rudolf Vrba, two Slovak Jews who managed to escape from Auschwitz in April 1944 and write a detailed report on the concentration camp, which they delivered to the Allies.
