Filmmakers launch crowdfunding campaign for World War Two drama highlighting the Romani Holocaust
Press releases 16-04-2024BELFAST, NORTHERN IRELAND, 26th April, 2024. Independent film production company, Lamb Films, will launch the crowdfunding campaign for their most ambitious project to date. Set in occupied Czechoslovakia, Rozkvet tells the story of a woman’s struggle to save her family from Nazi oppression. The film aims to shed light on the lesser known history of the persecution faced by the Roma/Romani people. The team believe that the production presents a unique opportunity for an authentic portrayal of the Romani people, who remain underrepresented in mainstream media and, when they are, it is often in a negative light, perpetuating racial stereotypes.

Call For Applications Open: Renowned Arthouse Cinema Training returns to Berlin for its 21st edition
Press releases 11-04-2024After the success of its 2023 edition, the Arthouse Cinema Training (ACT) will return to Berlin from 19 to 25 August 2024. The only programme of its kind worldwide, the ACT gathers independent arthouse cinema professionals from across the globe for a week-long intensive workshop on running an arthouse movie theatre and advancing film culture. In 2023, cinema professionals from over two dozen countries and four continents, for one week, turned the German capital into the centre of the arthouse movement. For its 21st edition, the Training will return to Holzmarkt, an event campus in the heart of the German capital. In its 21-year history, over 1,000 independent cinema operators and industry representatives from 60 countries have participated in the programme.
