Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival unveils the full lineup of its 22nd edition, adding four previously unannounced world premieres as well as well-known festival favourites and award season buzz titles to the selection.

At the Seville European Film Festival, the European Film Academy and EFA Productions proudly announced the nominations for the 31st European Film Awards. The more than 3,500 EFA Members will now vote for the winners who will be presented during the awards ceremony on 15 December in Seville.

Awards of the East-West co-production market connecting cottbus go to OCTOBER from Romania, 9TH STEP from Lithuania, MEN OF DEEDS from Romania in the cocoPITCH section and GERANIUM from Turkey in cocoWIP.

Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival awards Norwegian actress and director Liv Ullmann with the festival’s first Lifetime Achievement Award. Director Ingmar Bergman, an affiliate of the actress, will have a mini-focus programme.

19 films in production or post-production looking for sales agents or festivals will be presented at the Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event International and Baltic Work in Progress sessions on November 28.

Intriguing art and challenging topics: Tallinn Black Nights screens 12 German films in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut

Industry@Tallinn has selected five young actors and actresses to join the 2018 Black Nights Stars programme, to be presented during Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. Formerly Screen Stars Tallinn, Black Nights Stars runs for the second time, with the aim of promoting young actors and actresses from the Baltic Sea region.

This year’s Cottbus Film Festival will screen one majority and two minority Croatian co-productions. The Load, by Ognjen Glavonić, will compete in the feature film programme, while F20, by Arsen Anton Ostojić, and Breathing into Marble, by Giedrė Beinoriūtė, will screen in the ‘Spectrum’ programme. The Cottbus Festival is taking place from November 6th to 11th.

MIDPOINT TV Launch 2019 starts on Sunday, November 11 with its first workshop taking place in Slovak Republic.
