Film buffs are in for a real treat as the eleventh film festival, Cinema on the Border, kicks off in Cieszyn, a small town on the Polish-Czech border.

Breaking a dry streak in the Czech Republic, Fox began filming the pilot for Masterwork in Prague on April 28.

Discovery Networks EMEA, which oversees Discovery's European operations, will launch its Investigation Discovery (ID) channel in Romania, Hungary, and Poland, beginning in April.

Directed by Estonia's filmmaking virtuoso Jaak Kilmi and produced by scriptwriter-producer Kiur Aarma, this is a playful film about growing up in the Soviet Union; about the Cold War and hot desires. The film premieres at Tallinn's cinema Sõprus on April 9th

AW is a documentary film workshop at its forth edition, open to creative documentary filmmakers, DPs, editors and producers from Central and Eastern Europe.

EDN, European Documentary Network, is once again honouring an outstanding contribution to the development of the European documentary culture with The EDN Award. This year the award is presented to Nenad Puhovski and ZagrebDox.

Following the success of last year's Europe@Home photography competition, the European People's Party Group in the Committee of the Regions has joined together with the Party to challenge young people to shoot a 1-minute film on the topic of creating a better environment. We believe that climate change is one of the biggest challenges that Europe is facing and if we want to make a difference, change should begin at home. The top three film-makers will win a share of €1750 and a trip to Brussels to see their films screened in the European Parliament in October.
