VILNIUS: The European Film Forum Scanorama has replaced its regional short film competition New Baltic Cinema with the Glimpses of Europe short film competition, which will screen new talents from all over Europe from 17 to 19 November 2022.
JIHLAVA: Sixteen European projects in development, production and postproduction have been selected for the 2nd edition of the Ji.hlava New Visions Forum. The event will be held 27-28 October 2022 as part of the 26th Ji.hlava IDFF.

BOX OFFICE: Polish Documentary Saint Michael: Meet the Angel Comes Third in Daily US Box Office
Poland 06-10-2022WARSAW: Wincenty Podobinski’s documentary Saint Michael: Meet the Angel ended up third in the US box office on 29 September 2022 with 52,000 admissions and the highest audience per screen average (making 799 EUR per screen). The film was released in 811 cinemas as a one day event through Fathom Events.
PRAGUE: Submissions are open for the 5th CEE Animation Workshop, a training programme for developing projects and enhancing skills. The deadline for submissions is 24 October 2022.
BRNO: A total of 25 films, selected from among 243 entries, are competing in the 48th edition of the EKOFILM International Film Festival, which will take place in Brno, the Czech Republic, from 12 to 15 October 2022.
EKOFILM will present 25 documentaries from 15 countries. Most of the films are from the Czech Republic and Germany.
Festivals 05-10-2022CZECH REPUBLIC/Brno - The EKOFILM dramaturgy team has selected the top 25 films in competition from a total of 243 entries. The festival jury will award the best films in the sections Beauty of Nature, Central European Films and Short Films. Any of the films in competition can then win one of the other awards - the Main Award of the Minister of the Environment for the best film and the President's Award of the Festival. The festival will take place from 12 to 15 October in Brno, and we are already revealing the programme and opening bookings for individual screenings on the website www.ekofilm.cz.
BRATISLAVA: The fire that broke out in the Digital Audiovisual Department of the Slovak Film Institute (SFI) on 20 September 2022 caused significant damage to the digitalisation and digital restoration equipment, according to the Slovak Film Institute.
