Brussels, 1 March 2022: UNIC, the trade body representing the interests of cinema operators across 39 European territories, has today issued a statement expressing its solidarity not just with Ukrainian exhibitors but also the Ukrainian people as they look to repel the attack on their country by Russian forces.

As the world has been hit by a heavy crisis in which a part of Europe finds itself in a state of war, the Festival de Cannes wishes to extend all its support to the people of Ukraine and all those who are in its territory.

BRUSSELS: The International Union of Cinemas (UNIC) has announced IMAX Corporation and Vista Group as principal sponsors of the fifth Women’s Cinema Leadership Programme, and opened a call for mentors and mentees for its next 2022-23 edition, with the deadline for applications on 30 March 2022.

Brussels: 28 February 2022 - The International Union of Cinemas (UNIC), the European cinema trade grouping, has today announced that IMAX Corporation and Vista Group take on the role of principal sponsors of its flagship Women’s Cinema Leadership Programme, already in its fifth year. At the same time UNIC launched a call for mentors and mentees to take part in the next 2022-23 edition.

The tragicomic drama Occupation by Michal Nohejl and the biographic drama Zátopek directed, produced and co-written by David Ondříček can both boast of 13 nominations for the Czech Lion awards and thus stand the biggest chances in the 29th year. 11 nominations were given to the fantastic comedy by Martin Šulík The Man with Hare Ears, a film about a man who suddenly obtained some superpowers and those turned his life upside down from day to day.

ZAGREB: The 18th edition of the International Documentary Film Festival ZagrebDox is set to take place 3-10 April 2022 with around thirty films vying in the international and regional competition programmes. The Festival will also include the ZagrebDox PRO educational platform for film professionals, special screenings, discussions and presentations.

LIMASSOL: The call for projects for the coproduction, training and networking platform for film professionals Dot.on.the.map Industry Days, that will take place on 14 - 16 April 2022 in the frames of the 20th Cyprus Film Days International Festival 2022 and in partnership with the Thessaloniki International Film Festival Agora. The deadline for submissions is Friday, 25 February.
