The best Central and East European documentary film in post-production deals with isolation

WROCLAW: Polish Days, the most important industry event of the New Horizons IFF, which took place 15-17 August 2021, has announced its winners.

BERLIN: The International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) has voted Chloé Zhao's Oscar winner Nomadland as the best film of 2021. The FIPRESCI Grand Prix will be handed out on 17 September 2021 during the opening gala of the 69th San Sebastian Festival.

OLOMOUC: Festival selectors from Sundance, Berlinale, Tribeca, IDFA and CPH:DOX will participate in the 10th edition of the dok.incubator workshop, set to take place 21-29 August 2021.

KRAKOW: The Film Spring Open Workshop is launching the call for applications for its 16th edition. This practical audiovisual workshop based on new technologies and tools will take place in Krakow 12-21 October 2021.

DUBROVNIK: German Beta Film has picked up international distribution rights to the crime series The Silence directed by Dalibor Matanic and produced by the Croatian company Drugi Plan. The series will have its world premiere at the NEM Dubrovnik, running 6-9 September 2021.

The 12th edition of New Horizons Studio+ took place from 12th till 15th August during the 21. New Horizons International Film Festival (12th - 22nd August 2021).

SARAJEVO: CineLink Drama, which is running 14-19 August 2021 under the umbrella of the Sarajevo Film Festival, brings two teams of newcomers into its selection. Mario Kozina and Maja Pek-Brünjes are the creative team behind the Croatian project Jinx, while the Bosnian and Herzegovinian writer/short film director Tina Šmalcelj is developing Treasure of Veleš, a series dedicated to young audiences.
