The grants for short animated films were announced by the Georgian National Film Center on 7 May 2021.

WARSAW: Poland will reopen cinemas, theatres, philharmonic halls and cultural institutions on 21 May 2021, earlier than previously expected, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has announced. The decision has been made because the COVID-19 situation is improving more rapidly than expected.

BUCHAREST: Ramona Săseanu was approved as acting general manager of the Romanian public television (TVR) on 11 May 2021 as the Parliament rejected the activity reports of the former general manager Doina Gradea for 2017, 2018 and 2019.

BUCHAREST: Cultural events including cinema screenings will be allowed at 50% of the cinemas' capacity only for test/pilot events with the approval of the National Council for Emergency Situations, as Romania is gradually easing restrictions starting 13 May 2021.

BUCHAREST: Romanian actor Rareș Abraham is currently in postproduction with his debut feature Friday the 3rd / Vineri 3, which he also wrote, produced and shot in Cluj-Napoca from 15 to 27 February 2021.

STRASBOURG: The three films nominated for the 2021 LUX Audience Award – collective by Romanian director Alexander Nanau, Corpus Christi by Polish director Jan Komasa and Another Round by Thomas Vinterberg, are available online in the LUX Audience Week from 10 to 16 May 2021. Two out of the three titles are from FNE partner countries.

BUCHAREST: The 14th edition of One World Romania, which was due 21-30 May 2021, has been postponed to 11-20 June 2021 in a physical format and 21-27 June 2021 online.
