TALLINN: Slovenian producer Ales Pavlin of PERFO Production was at the Baltic Event taking place in Tallinn through 28 November 2014 to pitch Jan Cvitkovic’s fifth film Our Family.

Estonia has many world renowned composers like Arvo Pärt, Veljo Tormis, Sven Grünberg to name but a few. Pärt’s work has been used extensively in international film productions, lately the “Grande Bellezza”, one of the most successful European films in 2013.

Iron Sky The Coming Race filmmakers have launched today a new perk to the fans and fan funders – to get eaten on the big screen by a dinosaur. Pioneering a new level of fan involvement, the director Timo Vuorensola and Iron Sky team offers fans a possibility to support the film and choose a way a dinosaur consumes them in the film.

Mikael Persbrandt will play the leading part in the new film by Estonian director Kadri Kõusaar “Nordic Instinct”. The lead actress is Malin Buska.

One of the grand masters of Polish cinema Zanussi presents his latest feature “The Foreign Body” at a red carpet screening tonight as part of special focus on Polish cinema. Persbrandt, most recently known for the “Hobbit” presents Cannes-premiered “The Salvation” and “Someone You Love” at the Black Nights Panorama.

PRAGUE: The nominations for the 22nd annual Czech Lion awards will be announced on 14 January 2015.

One of the best-known Polish film directors Krzysztof Zanussi arrives in Tallinn today. Zanussi acclaimed international fame with his first full-length features “Struktura krysztalu” (1969) and “Family Life” (1971). Tonight he will present his latest “The Foreign Body” (2014) at a red carpet special screening at the Black Nights Film festival. “The Foreign Body” premiered at this year’s Toronto film festival.

Mikael Persbrandt’s international career kicked off with the foreign language Oscar winning film by Susanne Bier “In a Better World” (2010) that also won him the title of best actor at the Black Nights.

TBILISI: The 15th Tbilisi International Film Festival will open on 1 December 2014 with The President shot in Georgia by Mohsen Makhmalbaf, who will present the film.
