BUCHAREST: London based Romanian filmmaker Ilinca Călugăreanu is in production with Chuck Norris vs Communism, a 70 minute documentary focusing on the popular culture of the video cassettes in the last 10 years of the communism.

Höség/Heat is produced by László Kántor with Új Budapest Filmstúdió Kft (www.ujbudapestfilmstudio.hu). The project was selected at Binger Filmlab (www.binger.nl) for development, at Cinelink-Sarajevo (http://www.sff.ba/en/cinelink), and it was on the short list of the Sundance Film Festival (http://www.sundance.org/festival/). Foreign coproducers are expected. Possible co-producers are Helena Danielson together with the Swedish HEPP Film (www.heppfilm.se), and John Keville together Conor Barry Irish producers –SPFilms, Kántor told FNE.

BUCHAREST: Jesus del Cerro (Ho Ho Ho, The Bride Was Stolen, Ho Ho Ho 2: A Family Lottery) began filming the comedy Grandma together with producer Alma Sârbu and MediaPro Pictures (www.mediapropictures.com) on 1 April the 2012.
PRODUCTION: TVP and BBC Join Forces to Produce Spy Series
{mosimage}WARSAW: TVP and BBC will co-produce Spies in Warsaw, a series based on Alan Furst's bestselling novel.
The shoot for the first feature co-production made between Polish public broadcaster TVP (www.tvp.pl) and BBC (www.bbc.co.uk) will launch in Warsaw on 11 April 2012 and will take place only at Polish locations including Krakow.
PRODUCTION: New Robert Pejo film in Development
{mosimage}BUDAPEST: Robert Pejo is developing Paw, an inspiring story of an amazing rescue dog and his trainer and focusing on friendship, compassion and love, producer László Kántor told FNE.
"It will be like Full Monty meeting Amelie, a tender little fable about a dog and his owner," said Kantor who is producing Mancs/Paw together with his company, Új Budapest Filmstúdió Kft (www.ujbudapestfilmstudio.hu). TV2 MTM-SBS Television (tv2.hu) is coproducing. The project received 10,000 Euro (3 million Ft) from the Hungarian National Film Fund (www.filmalap.hu). The budget is 840,000 Euro (250 million Ft).

ZAGREB: Dražen Žarković plans to shoot The Mysterious Boy, a sequel to the box office success Koko and the Ghosts,in November-December 2012.

ZAGREB: Tomislav Mršić plans to shoot Cowboys, a comedic drama about eight people facing their lifetime opportunity to put on a theatre production, based on a popular Croatian play.
PRODUCTION: Magna cum fraudae in Development
BUCHAREST: Producer Iuliana Tarnoveţchi and Alien Film (www.alienfilm.ro) are developing Magna cum fraudae, a feature planned to shoot in Romania, Denmark, France and Spain.
The Romanian producer signed a deal memo with the France's C-Story, and is also looking for Danish and a Spanish co-producers. The project received a Robert Bosch Stiftung scholarship (www.bosch-stiftung.de) at the European Producers Workshop EAVE 2012(http://eave.org). The budget is 1.4 million Euros, Alien Film representatives told FNE.
