BUCHAREST: Uruguay, by the Spanish-born Madrid- and Bucharest-based director Jesús del Cerro, started shooting on 2 February 2016. The film stars Dragoș Bucur (The Way Back) and Cristina Flutur (Beyond the Hills, Mobra Films).

PRAGUE: Czech director Bohdan Sláma has begun shooting of his Czech/Slovak/French coproduction Ice Mother/Bába z Ledu in Plzeň and Hradec Králové. The film is produced by Pavel Strnad and Petr Oukropec from Negativ with a budget of approximately 1,3 m EUR.

LIMASSOL: International film director Peter Medak is shooting The Ghost of Peter Sellers, a feature length documentary about the film Ghost in the Noonday Sun, which Medak also directed.

ZAGREB: US actor Eric Roberts has joined the cast of Someone Dies Tonight which will begin filming in Croatia in March.

VILNIUS: Marius Markevičius began shooting the WWII drama Ashes in the Snow / Pelenai Sniege in Lithuania. The film is an American/Lithuanian coproduction based on the bestseller Between Shades of Gray by Rūta Šepetys.

WARSAW: Polish director Władysław Pasikowski is working on a new historical thriller about Jan Nowak-Jeziorański, one of the most notable resistance fighters of the Home Army during WWII. The shooting of Courier (working title) will launch in 2017.
