After a short pause due to the pandemic, Europa Distribution is finally back in Karlovy Vary (CZ) to
organise its distribution workshop in the scope of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

About 25 independent distributors, coming from all around Europe, will participate in the first
edition of the Film Distribution Innovation Hub and take part in the KVIFF’s activities

This year for the seventh time FNE together with FIPRESCI are organising the ratings of all feature films in the main Crystal Globe competition, and for the first time the Proxima competition of the official Karlovy Vary International Film Festival programme by international critics attending the Festival.

ŽILINA: The German production Thing directed by Malte Stein was awarded Best Short at the 25th edition of Fest Anča International Animation Festival, the only Slovak multimedia festival focusing on animated film, which took place in Žilina 29 June – 3 July 2022.

KARLOVY VARY: Ten films from outstanding young European directors will be presented in the Future Frames programme organised by European Film Promotion and the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

LJUBLJANA: Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May were spotted shooting in Kamnik, Slovenia, ahead of the rumoured Amazon Prime The Grand Tour Season 5. In the last two weeks they also travelled through Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.

BANJA LUKA: The third edition of Cinema Parallels will take place in Banja Luka, Srpska Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina from 7 to 9 July 2022. The theme of the edition is Inner Voices, Infinite Landscapes.

Films by Tin Dirdamal (MEX), Marko Grba Singh (Serbia), Ivan Ramljak (Croatia), James N. Kienitz Wilkins (USA), Fiamma Montezemolo (Italy-USA) and selection of regional filmmakers.

The Anča Awards have been announced! Winners were awarded at the festival’s closing ceremony on July 2 at historical Žilina Town Theatre. The jury was primarily swayed by student films that depicted the world with emotion, humour, and objectivity.

PRAGUE: The 26th Ji.hlava IDFF, which will take place 25-30 October 2022, has opened calls for feature-length and short films, animated and interactive documentaries. Until July 31 the festival is accepting rough cuts and films that have not had a festival world premiere yet.

The visual identity of the 26th Ji.hlava IDFF has been revealed! Its concept invites us to joyfully discover new and creative approaches to the world around.
