CLUJ-NAPOCA: Nothing More and Nothing Different / Nimic mai mult și nimic diferit by young Romanian director Lucas Neagu is set for shooting in July 2025. Lucas Neagu (24) was nominated in the Best Newcomer section of the Gopo Awards 2025 for directing and independently producing his debut feature Timing.

SOFIA: Bulgarian director Kostadin Bonev is currently in production with his Bulgarian/Albanian/Italian coproduction She Who Remains, based on a novel by the award-winning Bulgarian writer and actor Rene Karabash.

BUCHAREST: British-Romanian directors Anton and Damian Groves are currently filming their debut feature King Wray in Bucharest. The film is a coproduction between the company the Groves founded in Romania, Studioset, together with France’s Midralgar and Croatia’s Marinis Media.

BUDAPEST: Hungary’s Megafilm Service is set to begin principal photography on its upcoming romantic comedy One More Wish / Még egy kívánság in the autumn of 2025. The film will be directed by Kata Dobó and co-directed by Fanni Szilágyi.

SOFIA: Bulgarian director Petar Krumov is currently in postproduction with his debut feature, the Bulgarian/Belgian coproduction Barefoot Bull. The film produced by Rossitsa Valkanova is a bittersweet coming-of-age drama.

LIMASSOL: Cypriot director/screenwriter Myrsini Aristidou is currently in postproduction with her debut feature Hold onto Me / Krata Me, which is a coproduction between Cyprus, Denmark and Greece made in joint participation with the United States.

BUCHAREST: Claudiu Mitcu’s sophomore feature What God Thinks about Animals / Ce crede Dumnezeu despre animale has entered postproduction. The project was financed by the Romanian Film Centre (CNC) in its Thematic Fiction Films section.

VILNIUS: Lithuanian filmmaker Kristijonas Vildžiūnas has wrapped shooting on his drama fantasy Dice-ching-o-mat. The film produced by Uljana Kim is a coproduction between Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Luxembourg.

LJUBLJANA: Slovenian director Tomaž Gorkič started shooting The Monster behind the Iron Curtain / Pošast za železno zaveso on 19 April 2025. This dark thriller, inspired by the horrifying murders by a Yugoslavian serial killer, is Gorkič’s first TV series.

SARAJEVO: Bosnian director Mirza Begović is presently shooting The Will / Testament, a sequel to his debut feature Father’s Last Wish / Amanet, which was a massive theatrical success in 2022.

LJUBLJANA: Slovenian director Maja Križnik started shooting her debut feature Uncomfortable Beings / Zverine on 7 April 2025. This family drama about sisters’ relationship and childhood memories is a Slovenian/Italian coproduction and it is being shot in both countries.

SARAJEVO: After years of waiting for The Lake / Jezero (SCCA/pro.ba) by Timur Makarević, which was supposed to be the first Bosnian horror film, it seems that Adnan Hrustemović’s debut feature Evil Eye / Zlo oko will take that title.

BUCHAREST: The acclaimed Romanian actress Maria Popistașu and screenwriter Alexandru Baciu are in final postproduction with their debut feature as directors. Y is a Romanian/Greek coproduction supported by the Romanian Film Centre and the Greek Film Centre.

VALLETTA: Maltese director/DoP Keith Albert Tedesco is currently in postproduction with The Home Straight, a story about resilience and tenacity, financed by the Malta Film Commission - Creative Malta.

PODGORICA: Montenegrin director Đorđe Vojvodić is expected to wrap postproduction on his 100-minute documentary Nothing for You to Change / Ne pokušavaj mijenjat’ me by mid-July 2025. The film is a coproduction between Montenegro and Serbia, supported by both countries’ film centres.

TALLINN: Estonian filmmaker Ove Musting wrapped shooting Pig Slaughter / Seatapp on 2 March 2025. This black tragicomedy is his sophomore feature after his acclaimed debut, the sport drama Kalev (2022).
