BUDAPEST: The Hungarian director Dénes Orosz is currently in production with his feature film How Could I Live Without You? (working title) / Hogyan tudnék élni nélküled?, a romantic musical based on the evergreen hits by Ferenc Demjén, one of Hungary’s most iconic musical artists, whose concerts still fill up the biggest arenas.

SKOPJE: Macedonian director Kosara Mitić has started shooting her debut feature 17, focused on teenagers and based on a true event, in the Macedonian capital of Skopje. The film is a coproduction between North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia.

BELGRADE: New York-based Serbian cinematographer Miloš Jaćimović is in postproduction with his long observational documentary Sunset / Zalazak, which marks his directorial debut. The film is a Serbian/Montenegrin/Croatian coproduction supported by the respective national film centres.

VILNIUS: Norwegian director/DoP John Andreas Andersen is currently in postproduction with his feature film N24, about the WW2 Resistance fighter Gunnar Sønsteby. The film is coproduced by the Lithuanian company Artbox.

BRATISLAVA: The acclaimed Slovak director Peter Bebjak is currently in preproduction with his biographical feature Duchoň, based on the life of famous Slovak singer Karol Duchoň, who died tragically at the age of 35 in 1985. The production of the film should start in a few weeks.

TALLINN: The Estonian director/DoP/editor Erle Veber is currently in production with her documentary Art Therapy / Mäetamme seansid, about Estonian artist Marko Mäetamm and the healing effect of contemporary art on the spirit of both the artist and the audience.

SKOPJE: Macedonian director Dina Duma has started shooting her sophomore feature Skateboarding Is Not for Girls / Skejtanjeto ne e za devojcinja in the Macedonian capital of Skopje. The film is a coproduction between North Macedonia, Belgium, Slovenia and Croatia.

BUCHAREST: After his debut with Poppy Field / Câmp de maci (2020), Romanian director Eugen Jebeleanu is currently in postproduction with his sophomore feature Internal Zero / Interior zero, which has already been acquired by Patra Spanou.

PODGORICA: Bosnian director Srđan Vuletić has started shooting his new feature film Otter in the Montenegrin capital of Podgorica. The film is a coproduction between Montenegro, Italy, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo.

TALLINN: Estonian director/DoP/producer Manfred Vainokivi is in production with his documentary First Olympic Champion / Esimene olümpiavõitja.

BELGRADE: Nenad Pavlović’s sophomore feature Wanderlust / Izlet has started shooting. This black-and-white film is an adaptation of a book under the same-title written by the great Serbian painter, film director and writer Miodrag Mića Popović in 1957.

PRAGUE: The Czech/Polish/German/French film Franz directed by Agnieszka Holland is currently filming in Prague, including the area of the Old Town near Franz Kafka’s birthplace. The production in Prague started at the beginning of April 2024 and it will continue until the end of May 2024, with additional filming planned in Germany.

BUDAPEST: The German/French/Hungarian/Chinese coproduction Silent Friend directed by Ildikó Enyedi started shooting in Marburg, Germany on 9 April 2024. It is coproduced by Inforg-M&M Film and supported by the National Film Institute – Hungary (NFI).

RIGA: Latvian director Dzintars Dreibergs is in production with his sophomore feature Escape Net / Tīklā. TTT leģendas dzimšana, a biopic about one of the world's most successful female basketball stars: Dzidra Karamiseva, the first Latvian woman to join the USSR national team.

ZAGREB: Igor Jelinović has entered prostproduction with his debut feature Honey Bunny / Koke, a Croatian/Serbian coproduction supported by the national film centres of both countries.

SKOPJE: Cypriot writer/director Minos Papas is currently shooting his third feature film Motherwitch / Dodecameron. The film is a coproduction between Cyprus, North Macedonia and the United States.
