BUDAPEST: Viktor Oszkár Nagy’s anti-James Bond spy comedy Espionage for Beginners / Kémfeladatok kezdőknek has been acquired by U.S. Moonstone Entertainment. The film is currently in postproduction.

LJUBLJANA: Slovenian director Darko Sinko started shooting his sophomore feature Confirmation / Birma, a Slovenian production built up by December and supported by the Slovenian Film Centre, among others.

NICOSIA: The award-winning Cypriot director/writer/producer Tonia Mishiali is currently in production with her anticipated sophomore feature The Lion at My Back (former Nala & Stella). This Cypriot/Luxembourgish/Greek coproduction is a poignant, emotionally charged drama, exploring themes of resilience, survival, and the transformative bond between two marginalised women.

SKOPJE: Macedonian director Marko Gjokovic has started shooting his debut feature Tenant / Potstanar. The psychological drama is inspired by Slovenian dramatist Matjaž Župančič’s play Vladimir, and it is made as a coproduction between North Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro.

SOFIA: Bulgarian screenwriter Teodora Markova is working on her directorial debut The Inspector's Debt. The first-ever feature film coproduction between Bulgaria and Latvia has already received public funding in both countries.

BELGRADE: Serbian six-part TV drama Absolute 100 / Apsolutnih sto will have its world premiere in the Special Screenings programme of the 59th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, which kicks off on 4 July 2025.

BUDAPEST: Zsombor Dyga’s heroic war action-drama Dragons over Kabul / Sárkányok Kabul felett (working title Operation Kabul) is currently in postproduction and it will be released in domestic cinemas by Fórum Hungary in the autumn of 2025.

BELGRADE: Arthouse director Mladen Đorđević has completed the shooting of his fifth feature film Love Room / Ljubavna soba, a solely Serbian production supported by Film Center Serbia.

RIGA: Viesturs Kairišs is currently in postproduction with a new biographical drama about the world famous basketball player Ulyana Semyonova. The film follows her path from an old-believers community on the South Eastern border of Latvia to international fame, portraying both her personal journey and her symbolic role as a Cold War-era sports icon.

RIGA: The Latvian/Polish/Czech long animated film Born in the Jungle / Laimīgie by Edmunds Jansons is currently in late production. Pre-sales for France, Germany, Spain and Sweden were secured by French sales agent Dandelooo Cinema ahead of the film’s trailer premiere at Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2025.

BELGRADE: Serbian director Darko Lungulov started the production of his fourth feature film titled 1970 , which is a coproduction of Serbia, Hungary, Croatia and Luxembourg.

BELGRADE: The filming of the 10-episode biopic Pupin directed by Danilo Bećković is underway on various locations throughout Serbia, with an international cast. The Radio Television of Serbia is producing.

VILNIUS: Norwegian director Janicke Askevold is currently in postproduction with her feature film Solomamma, a coproduction between Norway, Latvia and Lithuania, set to be released in 2025.

SKOPJE: Macedonian director Jani Bojadzi has completed postproduction on his latest feature film Tomorrow Morning  / Utrenautro, a hard-hitting social drama exploring themes of justice, corruption, and personal survival in contemporary North Macedonia.

BUCHAREST: Romanian film writer/director Ioana Mischie is currently in postproduction with her awaited debut feature Catane, an absurd Romanian/Italian comedy already acquired by Intramovies. Recently, the film was screened in Cannes Film Market, and it will be released in cinemas at the end of 2025.

BRATISLAVA: Slovak director Peter Pokorný has entered production with Access Denied to Lasica / Lasicovi vstup zakázaný, a documentary about the Slovak comedy icon Milan Lasica (1940-2021), based on a script written by his daughter, writer/screenwriter Hana Lasicová.
